Original glazed doughnuts are still the best. I came here on 7-10-15 which was the Krispy Kreme promotion for its birthday. Buy 1 dozen doughnuts and get the original glazed dozen doughnuts for $0.78. I do not think their variety doughnuts are all that great, but a deal this good must be taken advantage of. Service was super fast too.

This Krispy Kreme location is the only location in the Westside area. Their Coffee Bean is also a partial location, so they won't have as many drinks and substitutes like almond milk as a regular Coffee Bean would. They did have soy milk but they don't make Chai Lattes here. I picked out a dozen for a family gathering and decided I would go to another location for my chai latte. Their dozen runs about $10 for fancy donuts and $8 for regular glazed. Some filling donuts will cost you $.50 more. The ladies who work there were very nice and helpful, I just wish I could have gotten a chai latte there too. They have a spacious parking lot behind so that was also nice. The place was kept clean and there's seating available to sip and enjoy your donuts.

There's a joke in atlanta it goes: when is the best time to rob a bank? when the krispy kreme sign is on. (bc all the cops are going for the donuts) What happens when the sign is on? it means the donuts are coming right out of the ovens on a conveyer belt for you to grab. And they're delicious, fluffy, chewy, sweet, warm. BY THAT DEFINITION, THIS IS NOT A KRISPY KREME! The donuts are delivered daily, i was told, from their downtown location, which i was also told, does the hot fresh donuts thing. Staff was nice, location very clean, donuts seem fresh (not hot off the conveyer fresh but same day fresh).

So addicting. How do you pass this place without going in? Treat myself here a couple times a year when I'm in the area. Place is clean, fast, and easy. Staff is always so nice. This location has street parking and parking in the back. Always pretty quiet when I'm there. Personally, I recommend one of the original ones, chocolate glaze. I surprise family and friends with assorted and specialty ones, so we can all enjoy something different.

Came on the special buy one dozen get one dozen for 78 cents. Last year they allowed multiple dozens after the first purchase, and informed us what we we're able to buy. This place has short lines, but BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE. The workers are rude, stop your order halfway to finish something else, and give you ATTITUDE for not knowing that the one extra dozen is only for glaze. The place is small and dingy compared to other places, and the furniture is out of date. I understand why this place is empty compared to other places.

Omg. Sorry, guys. This review is more for me and my poor memory than for you. Note to self: never order from Krispy Kreme again. You got asked your boyfriend to get you a free donut on National Donut Day and chose the Boston Cream with custard filling (your favorite). You ate it at work as your afternoon snack and now you have had a stomachache and that awful feeling of regret and overpowered sugar intake for over an hour. Do not do this to yourself again. Even if it's for a free donut. It's a waste of a "treat snack" and you're better off going to Dunkin, DK's, or Volcano for boba.

I like coming here sometimes to do work on my laptop because the internet is fast and there is never a lot of people. Most people do to-go orders, and people who drink coffee go elsewhere. LOVE: - Free Wifi, which is surprisingly very fast (faster than nearby Starbucks) - Fun, nostalgic treat (although it's wayyyyyy to sweet now that I am a little older) - There's always huge donut samples toward the front front counter - Big parking lot in the back NOT A FAN: - This place is dingy, old, has stark convenient store lighting, and needs a face lift. - Furniture is out of date, and there's metal bars everywhere. For lines? Not sure. - There is a loud refrigerator humming sound that plays for eternity in the shop. Because this place plays no music, it's hard not to notice that ridiculous sound. - If you need to use the bathroom, you need to talk to staff, and they will walk you to the bathroom, and manually unlock the door for you. Interesting? - Krispy Kreme is old school, has not updated to the times, identical to when you were young, everything doused in glaze and double glaze. I wish some of the chocolate flavors are more chocolaty, instead of just variations of sugary. - Weak, average coffee. Meh. I'd still come back for the wifi, the convenient parking, and that I feel like I have the whole place to myself. =)

Went in for a large bulk order of donuts for a fund raiser a week ago. This order had been placed several days in advance. We lined up at the door before six, which is the time they're suppose to be open, and a few minutes past six they opened he door. The told us their driver with the donuts ( cause they're not made in house, apparently ) was running late and it'd take about twenty minutes for the donuts to arrive. AND HOUR AND A HALF later we got our donuts and were on our way. Overall this was beyond unprofessional. We needed these donuts for our fundraiser at eight and we left the Krispy Kreme at seven thirty only to catch traffic, which is what we wanted to avoid since the fund raiser was an hour away. The employees did what they could but the company as a whole significantly let us down and disrupted our fund raiser scheduling with our customers and clients.

Could never resist passing by this place. Donuts are simple but they always taste so fresh and fluffy! Their basic glazed is my absolute favorite! If I had no self control I swear I could gobble up 5-6 of these in one sitting. Perfect snacks to bring for co workers and parties.

Such a prime place as there's not too many Krispy Kreme locations around west la. This Krispy Kreme is unique because they share it with a Coffee Bean...perfect excuse to get the great combo of a coffee and donut! (: I entered from the Wilshire entrance as opposed to the entrance from their back parking lot. The line starts from the parking lot entrance. Since it was National Donut Day, it was crowded. The line had to curl back into the store since it was so close to the door making it really congested inside. Plenty of seats/tables inside, but none outside. So it was National Donut Day right? Well each staff member looked as if it was more like Donut Care Day (hahaha horrible joke I know). No one was smiling and everyone seemed either stressed or grumpy. Cheer up people!! You're celebrating your own store basically!

I came here with friends because we had a coupon for a free dozen of glazed donuts with the purchase of any dozen. We came around 9pm on a Thursday night and easily found parking in the parking lot behind the store. Usually I love freshly made Krispy Kreme donuts. Unfortunately, this location doesn't do this. The donuts are made somewhere else and delivered here to be served at room temperature. All the donuts we had were good. The workers seemed to be annoyed to be helping us, which annoyed me. I also had a coupon for a free small coffee, too bad the coffee here sucks. The only plus side to this location is that it's the closest to where I live. Otherwise, I would make a trek to a Krispy Kreme location that actually freshly makes their donuts.

National Donut Day (June 6th) was quite a glorious day. Just a few things to note about me: 1. I love donuts 2. I love free things Conclusion: I REALLY love free donuts! Krispy Kreme was giving out one free donut (per customer) of your choice on National Donut Day. How epic is that?! My friend and I both selected our favie donuts (chocolate kreme filled) and then ordered a dozen glaze to share with the office peeps. The donut was fresh, delicious, and a sugar-y overload, but was exactly what I had been craving. Service was very quick and efficient. The parking lot in the back is a bit of a madhouse, drive safely!

I used to really enjoy coming here. But sadly, it hasn't been the same recently. The donuts don't taste fresh, and the interior seems a little dirty and sad. Plus, the last time I came, someone had a dirty, mangy dog up on their shoulders, right by the counter where the donuts were! Really? Health code violations galore. Not to mention city code violations by having your dog off-leash. I can't see any reason to come back here.

Good but they have no hot donuts only shipped to them :( I would go for the hot ones if I could

Seems like ever since I moved to SM, donut places have been following (er, haunting) me. My kid recently dragged me to this one, and it's GOOD. He and I have very different tastes when it comes to sweets (he likes maple; I prefer the glazed old-fashioned), but we both agree this place is top-notch. The joint is always super clean and the staff are incredibly nice. Now if I could just stay away...

Plus points for having a small parking lot in an area where finding parking is difficult. Minus many points for not making the donuts on site. I thought something was fishy when I didn't see the "hot/fresh" sign or whatever it says in the window when they make fresh batches. Also minus points for the customer service. The people working there were pretty rude. I don't even think they make the coffee/latte drinks there. They're pre-maid! FAIL!

  • May H.

Always fast, efficient, clean, and friendly. Parking is free in the back. There is street metered parking as well. I ordered a dozen of the original glaze and because it's such a popular item, they had them pre-packed that morning. But I kind of want to see them pack it in front of me. I hoped they were fresh, I guess they were.

These doughnuts are absolutely the best. I've had others, not Krispy Kreme, purchased from all over the city during this Christmas holiday season, and none are as tasty and good as these soft, sweet, gentle, light, and perfect doughnut creations. I bought four dozen yesterday. There was plenty of easy parking in the back. I was warned that the line was out the door and to expect a 30 minute wait to get my doughnuts. There was no wait and the doughnut girl behind the counter filled my boxes so fast that I may have thought they were prefilled. I know they weren't because I ordered various types. They had free coupons for coffee and doughnuts. I got a free ground coffee there also that tasted pretty good. The only reason Krispy Kreme gets four stars instead of five is that I was uncomfortable because the girl (she wore gloves) had a sore on her mouth. Can't management tell people not to come to work like that? I worry about those things. Other than that one sour note, I love think it is great.

They don't have blueberry donut holes!? Is this really Krispy Kreme?? Ok but I usually love them :)

  • Auggie R.

I came to expect the usual great taste that I've been accustomed to. This location was not that for me. The donuts we're cold and tasted as if they'd been sitting there all day (I arrived there at about 9 pm). My wife and I ordered some drinks that were not up to par. Her hot chocolate was odd tasting and my blended coffee was more ice than anything else. To top it off, on one of their huge walls, the sign was coming down and it seemed like it had been that way for a while. How am I supposed to trust your donuts if you can't take the time to correct the image of your location? Overall this place was very distasteful and I wouldn't go back. The only reason I gave it two stars was because I love these donuts and there wasn't a line...but maybe for a reason!

    (2)
  • Louella L.

The lady that assisted me was very nice. It took me a while to figure out which donuts to get aside from the original glazed that I really like. She was very patient and courteous. The place is small just around the corner but clean and pleasant. I came around 4pm and they still have different varieties to choose from. Nothing can beat the original glazed Krispy Kreme donuts so far.

  • Jordyn L.

For a large franchise, they still have pretty great donuts. Their limited time donuts are always the reason for me to go in. The selection is decent, definitely not that of the gourmet donut joints, but the quality always exceeds expectations.

  • RC S.

I love a fresh, hot, glazed Krispy Kreme donut. Any who doesn't?!?! Trouble is, you can't find one here. They bake/fry their donuts somewhere else and then truck them in here, to be delivered at a mere room temperature. To the owner/franchisee of this location: Please, please find a way to serve your donuts hot. I wouldn't mind if you microwaved them, or even set up a microwave where customers could zap their own donuts for a few second. (Seriously, Krispy Kreme donuts are great this way -- almost as good as when they come fresh off the conveyor belt.) Or, then again, perhaps I should be grateful that the donuts sold here are not as delicious a they could be. If they were -- just minutes from my house -- I might find myself eating them more than I should. Seriously, with Dunkin having opened up within eyeshot of this Krispy Kreme, they've going to have to do something to keep up. I love Dunkin's vastly superior coffee, but if Krispy Kreme could find a way to serve hot donuts here, they would beat Dunkin's every time. Oh, how I can dream of washing down a fresh Krispy Kreme donut with a fresh cup of Dunkin hazelnut coffee!!!

The doughnuts are not the problem. The people working here are. It seems that they are not welcoming and interested in entertaining you and helping you out. I come here from time to time and some servers are good but some aren't like today thats why i decided to make a review. I come in, worker says hi with a sad face and a very low tone voice. Like she doesn't even want to help. Since i wasn't that hungry, i ordered one of the combos. Since in the photo it shows milk beside a donut, i asked "can i substitute a small juice instead of the milk?" She replied "No, you can only get milk.". Ok then, i remembered the last person who served me before told me i can get a small juice. But since she wasn't there, so i said ok. Now while i was sitting and drinking my milk, i read in the combo that says "Any 8 oz Drink!" Omg! And the juice is also an 8 oz plastic bottle. I am a little upset because if you are the one working there, you should have the knowledge to know everything! That is why you're there, to help. Next time, reading the selections really helps a lot! I wish the servers are more helpful and smiling.

As a Dunkin Donuts diehard, it's almost sinful that I am reviewing a competitor, but I'm hear to give someone named 'Michael' credit for being a very friendly worker I encountered behind the register. I know this location is smaller and doesn't have 'hot' donuts, but I was desperate and picking them up for someone in need. Of course their glazed will usually do the trick, but I also had to help myself to a mini sugared donut to get in my sugar high. Michael made sure my items were packaged securely to go, and all the while, made sure I had everything I needed within the shop. Yes I know it's just a Krispy Kreme. But your employee made this such a nice experience. Thanks Michael!

Some people refuse to help themselves. It's just too hard. Too hard to resist the brand name temptation of a free, deep-fried doughnut. You know you're better than that. You know you shouldn't do it, but it's not all your fault. Blame Krispy Kreme for its generosity and giving nature. You took advantage of something that was offered to you freely. One "Original Glazed" (or your choice of) coffee dunker, free for one day only. Enjoy it while you can, for tomorrow, you may have to be responsible for your own person again. Parking is in the back. Hurry... they close at 10 pm! #NationalDoughnutDay #thanksKrispyKreme and a #randomquote by Yelp's Chris C. ( yelp.com/user_details?us… ): "I like seeing the HOT DONUTS sign when it lights up."

Melt in your mouth deliciousness. I sent my husband here on National Coffee Day to get his free cup and to grab me some donuts. The girl behind the register acted like she didn't know about it... she tried to get him to BUY a medium or large one by asking him.. would you like a med or lg coffee today? He answered by asking about the free cup and she said oh that's the small to which he responded... that's the one I will take then... duh. Anyway, the donuts were fresh, soft and yummy. The seasonal pumpkin cheesecake had a crunchy gingerbread topping that I loved but the cream cheese icing was a bit too sweet. Plain glazed was awesome (heat in microwave and be prepared to have your mind blown) as always, choc glazed kreme filled was good and the raspberry filled glazed was probabaly my favorite... the filling wasn't cloyingly sweet like it is at most other donut shops. I used to eat these while waiting for the train in NYC's Penn Station a decade ago... still a huge fan and happy to have Krispy Kreme in LA! It is nice that this location has a parking lot... especially in Santa Monica! Drive thru would be even better...hint hint

The sight of an open Krispy Kreme still makes my heart sing like an orphan in a Broadway musical. Oh Doughnuts Wonderful Doughnuts Marvelous Doughnuts Glorious Doughnuts Donuts, Glorious Doughnuts Don't care what flavor Chocolate! Glazed! Cream-filled! Don't care what the critics like? Just thinking of growing fat ... My senses go reeling One moment of knowing That Krispy Kreme feeling Donuts, Glorious Doughnuts The flavor of the month was Chocolate Cream-filled Krispy Kremes. That's right...chocolate filling and chocolate frosting. Choco-tastic! The free sample was like free chocolate chronic because I ended up getting an assorted dozen to go. With free parking in back and friendly service, the Santa Monica Krispy Kreme brings out the singing kid in all of us.

As yelp says, Krispy Kreme is A-OK. Not the best donuts on the planet, but usually pretty soft and satisfying. Convenient parking lot in the back, full-menu Coffee Bean inside for your coffee cravings, and the usual Krispy Kreme donuts. Kudos to James M. for inspiring me to come in. James, I set a barrel of oil on fire in the parking lot in your honor. And my donuts were delicious.

If there's a KK around, I can't resist. I love the regular chocolate with the cream filling. It's kracktastic. Well, any of the donuts really. I don't discriminate. They're all good.

Normally the donuts here are fresh and delicious but I was extremely disappointed last night to find that the dozen donuts I bought were stale. Not going to this location again

  • Bryant C.

The exterior is decent looking, but I love how large and recognizable the Krispy Kreme branding is. The interior is pretty clean. It's kind of awkward that the order line starts from where people enter the store from the parking lot. It's inconvenient for people coming here for lunch and walking from nearby offices because you have to squeeze into the line through a narrow hallway. The doughnuts were on trays and weren't even warm. I guess they delivered based on other reviews I've read about this place. The people taking orders were super efficient. They kept the line moving quickly in the morning and got me my order in less than 5 minutes. The staff could smile more, but it was the morning, so I don't Blame them. Having this place so close to my bus stop and office will definitely kill my diet xD haha.

Krispy Kreme doughnuts are the best! I have tried donuts at non-franchised donut shops but for some reason I still think Krispy Keme has their donuts just the way I like it. They partnered with Coffee Bean so they serve coffee from Coffee Bean at this location. There is nothing more satisfying in the morning than a nicely brewed coffee from Coffee Bean to go with my doughnuts. The cashier at Krispy Kreme is also very friendly and is very patient because I was very indecisive of choosing my assorted dozen of donuts. Even though this is located in Santa Monica, where parking always suck. Surprisingly, parking is pretty convenient. It is located in the back of the store.

  • Serena K.

Almost missed it driving by but love the fact that there is parking in the back (customer only) and how mellow the store was, the worker who was there was so enthusiastic and friendly she offered us samples and then helped us with our orders even helping us to chose the better deal! This branch is quite far from me so this will most likely be a first and last for me but I would definitely come back if I'm in the area, great service! Also very clean!

Came here yesterday to pick up the dozen doughnuts for 77 cents. Good donuts. Good service. Would recommend.

  • Josh W.

Their donuts are great. Even though I go there once every few months to get donuts(mainly the clear glaze and few times the chocolate glaze) and say they are very tasty. Staff is nice. Cleanness of tables and surrounding area can get dirty on a couple of times.

  • Amy T.

Krispy kreme is my favorite donut place because the consistency of their donuts are superb. Donuts melt in your mouth and the serving size is perfect, not too much where you feel like youre going to get diabetes but not too little that you'll have to fork out another dollar to buy another one. This location is particular on santa monica wasnt anything to rave for. Place was small. Waiting lines were cramped and worst of all, I had a stomach ache after I ate their donuts. How did I know it was the krispy kreme donuts and not something else I ate? Because the next day I ate another donut, I had a stomach ache and the one following that, the same. Maybe I just got a bad batch or what not, but probavly not coming back here again. Ill be over at Dk donuts from now on, located conviently a few blocks away!

Was out in Santa Monica earlier... driving down Wilshire and saw this unassuming Krispy Kreme and decided to stop in. ---------------- LOCATION ---------------- On WILSHIRE BLVD. in the heart of Santa Monica, nice people watching location. Usually Krispy Kreme's are big individual store but this is the smallest one I've ever seen and was obviously a leased bldg. space among a connection of like 4-5 stores. They didn't even have the typical full Krispy Kreme logo outdoors, just the red font type of it... if I hadn't been stopped at a light I wouldn't have noticed it. This place was really small inside and it didn't even have the signature CONVEYOR BELT to watch all the hot glazed being made :-/ -------------------------- FINAL THOUGHTS -------------------------- There was no conveyor belt. The exterior didn't look like a Krispy Kreme. The interior didn't feel like a Krispy Kreme. My DEVIL'S FOOD GLAZED CHOCOLATE DONUT didn't taste that great (didn't even finish it). Only good thing about it was while sitting inside, the windows peer out to Wilshire so you get a good view. This Krispy Kreme is subpar :-/ EDIT: Our cashier "Aida Tavakoli", was pretty nice and had a smile on her face. EDIT II: The parking lot out back was small, uneven and crowded.

Wanted donut holes. Counter girl says there aren't' any. So I buy three dozen glazed instead. Card is charged while donuts are being packed. I see donut holes in cups near register. I say I want to make an exchange. They say no can do-- because it's on a credit card. Seriously? I'm stuck with something i don't want -- for a lot more money, because the people who work here are morons. I refuse to believe they lack a mechanism by which a credit card can't bee refunded. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

I LOVE Krispy Kreme. This place is a decent location, though it seems to have less options than other locations and you cannot see the donuts as they are made. Extra points though for have yummy samples at the counter.

Price: $1.09 for plain glazed donut. Price goes up from there. Quality: Krispy Kreme rocks. Not a fan of the oreo cake donut though Service: They do what they can. Not super friendly but not terrible either. Ambiance: bright lights and open store front. Lots of 2-seater tables. Parking: Lot in the back. Meters on the streets. Perks: shares a space with Coffee Bean so you can get good coffee/tea too. Free wifi super plus!

I love these donuts and one is not enough. Great coffee and sweet tea. The staff is always great and quick to serve. The place is small but just right to stop by. It has plenty of parking and connected to See's candy.. I call it my sweet corner. YUMMY...

I love KRISPY KREME! I have to say, I missed Krispy Kreme after having it in Washington (used to be like 3 minutes from my home). I never really had an excuse to stop by Krispy Kreme after moving down to Cali. I went with my friend because he randomly wanted to eat one. Instead of getting one each, I ended up going overboard and ordering a dozen for the two of us! haha, silly me:) We ordered 6 glazed originals, I got a BLUEBERRY fritter (didn't know they existed), 2 maple bars, Raspberry Filled, Strawberry Filled (powdered), oh no... I don't remember the 12th one we got! Wait the picture down below reminded me of what I ordered! The Glazed Twist! They all tasted good of course! The cashier guy notified us of a free dozen donuts if we purchase a dozen first the next time we come! It was on our receipt, I told my friend excitedly, " YAY! WE CAN HAVE A DOZEN DONUTS EACH! AND GET FAT:) " Definitely, coming back here for my free dozen:)

While this location is not as spectacular for purposes of viewing donut creation as the Burbank location is, it's still nice to be able to indulge in the lovely and sweet tastes of a Krispy Kreme donut while in Santa Monica. The employees at this location were still even nice enough to honor a free spring forward donut coupon for a promotion that store wasn't even participating in.

    (4)
  • Jenn W.

The cashier was super nice and seemed genuinely happy to be working there even in the late evening. She made me even happier to get donuts than I already was! Got a dozen assorted donuts for $9.50 or something. When individual donuts are $1.20-ish, definitely just go for a dozen. Damnit now that I've written this review, I want to go back and get more donuts... Oh yeah and there's a parking lot in the back, so convenient!

Alright, we all know Krispy Kreme has great donuts. I am not much of a donut eater, but it seems like everyone else I know is. Come early in the day for the most selection and know that this is one of those rare locations where they DO NOT bake their donuts on site. I asked, and they come daily from Gardena. Of course, trying to come to this location you will have to deal with the annoyance that is parking in Santa Monica.

Service and randomly weird location be damned (kidding.) This Oxnardian was really craving KK so I'm heavily inclined to just let my stomach write this review, nevertheless i'll try not to be extremely blinded by my desire for these donuts, so let's begin with the service; girls in the counter, really didn't seem to like their job, but they tried hard to be friendly so I'll give them props for that, and not only that but at least they blended my coffee just how I like it (there's a coffee bean inside this KK, how awesome is that?!) so they passed off as competent workers. I was slightly disappointed at their lack of variation with their donuts, but perhaps it was simply because of the time I went. With that being said, I got some donut holes, a glazed, and a chocolate sprinkled; all tasted fantastic, fresh, and satisfied this girls craving. A slight complaint is the small size, but I haven't been here in a while, so who knows maybe the sizes got smaller! The donutery (not a word, but maybe webster's should add it!) was very clean, nothing to complain about there either. Overall, it was okay, but this location lacks that real Krispy Kreme feel, you can't see the donuts being made and it was hard to identify whilst looking for it, but as said, it did the job. I'll definitely be back if I'm ever in town, there can't be a better combination that coffee bean ++ Krispy Kreme!

  • Steve L.

Convenient location, close to home, with a Coffee Bean right inside made this a perfect spot to pick up a little pick me up for the family. While I'm glad to see lines aren't wrapping around blocks like they used to when Krispy Kreme started popping up, this one had a small crowd when we went in. Convenient and easy parking in the back makes it too easy to pack a few pounds on... :)

A lovely, well-lit shop, very clean and inviting. The delicious doughnuts are always fresh, and the staff is friendly and cheerful. Immensely preferable to a more crowded coffee bar for sitting and doing some work.

Favourite doughnut: Chocolate covered glazed doughnut. This KK is good and they are very generous with their samples. Always try their seasonal doughnuts though, sometimes they are good.

The closest Krispy Kreme to me....wish it was a 24 hr drive thru like the one in Garden Grove, but it will have to do. I need my blueberry fritter and old fashioned chocolate cake glazed! The staff here are nice, even when I rush in 15 min before closing when they're starting to clean up to get my donut fix. I have yet to get a stale donut here, but I have never tried their donut holes like some of the negative reviewers have, so that may be it.

Great location, clean and quiet but some people look like they don't like their job :(

Wow. Was running late the other day. Family strolls in and jumps ahead of me in line. Then they sit there chatting about what they all wanted. Enough to drive you crazy. Staff saw that I was running late and jumped to take my order while the slow family talked and talked about whet they were going to order. Got the blueberry fritter and an orange juice. and was on my way. The fritter and the OJ were great and the service was top notch. Couldn't have asked for anything more.

Honestly, I am not a big fan of the donut, but when I do decide to have one I enjoy theirs. Not too sweet, made just right. I like the ones that have apple filling, and if you heat it up a lil, then it's much better.

When this krispy kreme first opened up, I was so excited! After all, we west coasters had heard about it for years and could only get a taste of it when traveling back east. But now that it's here and been here for all these years, all I can say is MEH! The donuts, while different than your average donut shop, aren't anything to write home about. The coffee is just from the Coffee Bean. I'd rather go to the actual Coffee Bean a few more blocks west and sit by their fire pit! Now, when I look forward to east coast donuts, I look forward to another brand's. I won't name them here. Let's just say it rhymes with funkin' fonuts!

It's a chain... so they're all pretty much the same. This place doesn't have the conveyor belt in the front so you can't see the fresh donuts being made. Plus, I still say that Krispy Kreme isn't even that good... BUT, this is one of the only locations (is it the only one?) on the West Side, and the lady who works there is delightful! Plus, it's got a private parking lot behind it, which is always a plus in LA. So... why not?

Dont get me wrong here.. I'm a huge and I mean HuGE fan of kk. This place seems worthy of being shut down. How can you go wrong with kk and coffee bean in the same place?!? Apparently it's easier than you think. Ok so I love donut holes since forever!!!! After a bad exp with Vienna pastry I thought I couldve buy myself a treat after work... Sigh once again give me the pass and go card. I ordered 1 cup of donut holes and white chocolate iced. Donut holes were old extremely old and stale. With some weird funky coloring... A bit on the dark yellow side... Sigh I asked the worker and she looks at it and tells me it's normal from the sugar.. O.... K..., please explain the taste then. Iced White chocolate fail to. Pretty much tasted like milked down coffee with ice. I saw that there was a gap between the liquid and top of cup... And she just guzzled the cup with more milk...... So nearly 7 bucks later I ended up old stale donut holes and a "milked" down ice white chocolate.. My conclusion. Just buy from 7-11....

One star off because: I went there on valentine's day, thinking I would get me a big-O heart shaped doughnut to mitigate the pain of not having a BF and the whole display was completely.............EMPTY! I mean not a single doughnut in sight When I asked the lady where were the doughnuts she just said they had a really busy day and everything was GONE! She must had said that about a thousand times before I got there because she had an absolute lack of compassion for my sad face. Anticipate next Valentine's have three times more doughnuts than the usual, will ya? Another star off thanks to: The parking attendant Nazi who patrols the parking lot This guy takes his job way too seriously and is the most annoying parking attendant. I understand the cleaners don't want any people to park in their reserved spaces so he is there watching people who need a sugar fix like a hawk. I've seen him scream and follow people who parked on the cleaners spaces and are going to kk OK, I understand that......somehow....he could be nicer about it,he is the luckiest man, he enjoys bothering people and he found a job that pays him to do exactly that. If you make it pass the buzz kill they have working there as a parking attendant, provided is NOT Valentines day, they have a clean store and a good selection.

I have only been to Krispy Kreme once (so maybe I didn't choose the best donuts :-) but I prefer Dunkin' Donuts, too bad there's not a single one in LA.

Wow, I Love KK, but this location by far had the worse customer service ever. Lazy and rude. As much as I enjoy the product, it's going to be difficult to have to deal with these types of personalities. You would think that Santa Monica location would have some more class. "don't touch the window, we just cleaned it" told my friend (a female) "use the men's room, we just cleaned the ladies room." the best part "you CAN'T change your order, you already picked out a dozen" good luck.

If you're looking for freshly made Krispy Kreme donuts, this isn't the place. It's delivered fresh from a nearby factory store. I definitely do not eat store bought donuts and I pretty much stopped eating donuts from most donut shops. Unless there's something special about a donut or a donut shop, I typically don't pay attention to it. Plus there's a whole lot of other desserts I'd rather have instead of a donut since they pretty much taste the same across the board. Krispy Kremes, on the other hand, I will since I like their glaze and their flavors. Keep in mind that the last time I had a Krispy Kreme donut was probably over a year ago. From location to location, Krispy Kreme donuts taste the same and I haven't been disappointed. Anyhow, I decided to study at Krispy Kreme to kill some time since there was someplace I had to be in a few hours. The two servers were alright...I mean, ordering donuts has the minimum amount of interaction. I was satisfied. Anyhow, it's an alright place to sit around and study and I got stuff done. I decided to try the limited time only banana donuts--one with caramel and the other with banana pudding cream inside. They were alright. They didn't taste that fresh (typically I put donuts in the microwave for 10 secs to address that). I also had a pomegranate ice blended drink since they serve Coffee Bean at this location. I spent less than $6.00. I liked Krispy Kreme because it was fun watching the store make donuts. Even though the donuts are delivered, I'd still go back. Again, it's been about a year since I've last been to this location or had a Krispy Kreme.

This Krispy Kreme location probably deserves 2 stars, but Krispy Kreme Donuts have been with me through thick and thin for at least 15 years and I just can't bear to give them less than an average rating. Back when I was in college in North Carolina, I used to love to drive offcampus to Krispy Kreme and have coffee and donuts fresh from the oven, from the ORIGINAL Krispy Kreme. Luckily, the franchise followed me as I moved to the midwest and then out here to LA. Unfortunately, the friendly service and hot-out-of-the-oven donuts did not make it to Santa Monica. Their donuts are still light, fluffy and yummy. But they are never warm and fresh. My sister and I recently went here to grab dessert. We both love the original glazed donuts and also their cream filled donuts with milk chocolate icing. However, they were completely out of any donuts filled with bavarian cream or vanilla cream! All they had left was a massive amount of dark chocolate-filled donuts. To add insult to injury, when we asked the store clerk if she had any more bavarian cream filled donuts, she just shook her head like she was impatient with us and said, "nope." We asked her if she had any regular milk chocolate donuts instead of the dark chocolate donuts, and again she just simply said, "nope." She acted like it was such a chore to stand there while we decided what we wanted. What happened to the friendly service I'm used to from other Krispy Kreme locations? Maybe I'm just used to the southern charm of the NC locations and the friendly staff at the midwest locations, but this recent stop at Krispy Kreme was disppointing. Oh well, since its the only Krispy Kreme close to me, they will have many opportunities to make it up to me.

It's Krispy Kreme, you know what you're getting. However, the atmosphere is lacking and the building looks shabby and unprofessional from the inside. It's not one of the Krispy Kremes that have the donuts being made in front of you on the conveyor belts and all that, which takes away a lot of the fun. This also means the donuts are made at a different location and shipped in. They still taste ok, but they're not hot off the belt as other locations have it. Go somewhere else for a good donut.

I didn't even know there were still any more Krispy Kreme Donuts! But I do love their donuts and The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf! I love KKD's donuts, they had these yum pumpkin spice and this peppermint bark donuts that were delicious! The staff was friendly and it was a nice slow pace when I went in. But if you need the bathroom, they are available, just ask the people at the counter to open it up for you.

My husband had a hankering for donuts over the weekend and I yelped that one was very close to where we were! The donuts were really good. Very nice and very friendly!

This place is good, good, good. Their jelly filled donuts are always filled with plenty of filling. If I'm going to buy a filled donut, I want it really filled. This place doesn't disappoint. Other donut places, which I will soon review, are so cheap with their fillings, that it is like eating a big chunk of deep fried bread. If I wanted that, I would buy a regular donut. I have always found this Krispy Kreme clean and the staff nice. Such beautiful and tasty donuts are found here. I love this place.

If there was a sore thumb in our beloved city this is it. Santa Monica is one of the more progressive areas in this nation. With ban's on smoking in public, bans on Styrofoam take out containers, a fleet of low emission buses, and several services for making a greener lifestyle possible I am proud to pay taxes in my zip code. Another thing that I relish about the area is the minimal amount of chain fast food places and healthier places to grab a bite to eat. Then there's Krispy Kreme... who the hell eats here? I admit, I like to splurge and grab a donut every now and then but I would go to Stans in Westwood to support a small business owner who makes a wonderfully crafted donut. To make it even worse they don't even make the donuts here. Weak.

LOVE the raspberry filled donuts!!! Want to throw myself in the car and drive down there right now and get some. Or a dozen. Yup, probably a dozen. But I'm at work so that's not happening :( But I will be back soon KK, promise!

I don't care that much for doughnuts, in general, but I partake occasionally... these are trucked in fresh in the AM and afternoon. And of course if you are a Krispy Kreme lover, it is what it is. Tthey serve good coffee bean & tea leaf coffee, and assortment of tea, muffins, etc... Mostly I like to hang out here because it's a nice place for wifi, with very pleasant people working there(esp. Jim, the manager).

made a quick stop here this morning before going to work. i got a parking spot right in front of the store. i went in with the intentions of redeeming my valentine's day coupon for one free donut. eight minutes later, i walked out with 24 1/2 donuts (1/2 because i couldn't resist not taking a bite out of one) and a chocolate milk. mmmmmmmm... "one donut a day, and everything's gonna be okay. eat a donut a day, and everything's gonna be o-o-o-o-o-okay. eat a donut a day, and everything's gonna be okay. just one donut a day, and everything's gonna be o-o-o-o-o-okay. it's gonna be okay. it's gonna be okay. it's gonna be okay!"

We've been here quite a few times - my four and a half year old son is particularly fond of doughnuts and the allure of fresh fried dough is lost on him seeing as his primary concern is over the mere existence of the sugar delivery system and not necessarily how sublime that delivery actually is. That being said, the staff is generally friendly, and the place is clean. So, a solid three stars.

Weak, weak, weak. There's nothing worse than being teased by a KK with no fresh, hot donuts...ever. They don't have a Willy Wonka donut machine at this location. It's just an outlet for old donuts probably shipped on giant container ships from China. Yes, they're still Krispy Kremes but there's simply no comparison to the fresh ones elsewhere in the city.

Krispy Kreme... AND... Coffee Bean... Booyah! Satisfy my donut cravings and my chai soy latte cravings all in one place... what more could a girl ask for? Minus one star only for the fact that the donuts are not actually made at this location... so you can't get them straight off the conveyor belt...

This place is not very good. I don't understand why they cant make the donuts fresh here. They do at most spots on the east coast and these donuts only taste really good when they are hot. They told me the donuts are delivered..from where??? Im disappointed.

Love this place. KOSHER! Yes!!! Tasted fresh. They gave my kids a couple doughnut taste tests and they were thrilled after staring at them with those kid in a candy store eyes. We each ordered one... and then had to get another. How could you go wrong? Chanukah and jelly doughnuts...Ooh. Gotta get in the car and get some more. Custard or creme..hm...I can't wait.

Thanks to Evan's review, I finally figured out why this is my least favorite KK...They don't make them here. Still, they are better than your average donut place.
